Meet Scholar of the Month Chloë Clark, All Ways Up Ambassador and Future Sports Journalist

Chloë Clark is a senior at Loyola Marymount University (LMU), double majoring in Communications and Journalism. She is the Vice President of the National Association of Black Journalists and is also a sideline reporter for the LMU athletics department, reporting on most home basketball games. Chloë is an All Ways Up Ambassador, working to support All Ways Up scholars at Cal Lutheran, LMU, Occidental and USC. She is usually the one doing the interviews, but this time we had a chance to interview her:

You are graduating a year early, how did you manage that: Graduating in three years has always been a goal of mine and I was able to accomplish that by staying driven and organized each semester. My college career has been very rewarding, not only being on track to get my degree early and graduating with a high GPA, but the experiences throughout have made my three years at LMU worthwhile. The friends and connections I have made pushed me to show up every day. Not only did I become immersed in my education, but I also wanted to have my own purpose during my three years. I did not simply want to just go through the motions. I made my personal mark through many opportunities. My proudest was becoming LMU’s first official sideline reporter and digital media host. These accomplishments are what continue to motivate me and propel me forward.

What has being an All Ways Up scholar meant to you? All Ways Up has been a huge support system for me. I have created bonds with my fellow All Ways Up scholars who continue to inspire me as I see them achieving exciting things. I am so grateful for the resources and opportunities All Ways Up has given me, from being a part of the ambassador and working scholars programs all the way to helping me secure a summer internship. Most importantly, the lessons of leadership have helped me attain my goals. All Ways Up has cultivated positive growth and success that has pushed me to stay focused and determined through my entire college experience and beyond!

What advice do you have for your fellow All Ways Up Scholars during this time?

With so much free time, this is the perfect opportunity to focus on yourself, your studies, and explore what you are most passionate about.

What's Next? I was just accepted into Syracuse University's broadcast journalism program and when I receive my master's degree I want to pursue a career in sports broadcast journalism!
