1. How are you doing during these uncertain certain times? What are you doing to achieve balance?
Some of the things I am trying to do to maintain balance during these uncertain times, is tapping into things that I have always wanted to try. I started to paint more, read more, picked up rollerblading, baking, and of course--catching up on a lot of tv shows that I have been putting off.
2. Despite everything that's going on, what accomplishments are you most proud of? What are your future plans?
Despite everything that is going on, I am proud to have graduated from college and to have had an enriching college experience. As a first-generation student and daughter of immigrants, it means the world to me to be able to accomplish this. After graduation, I will be moving to the Bay Area, and I will be beginning my career at Goldman Sachs.
3. Have you spent time organizing your thoughts? What are the things that you said you would do if you had time?
There are a lot of things I wanted to do if I had more time, and I see myself tapping into this especially as the semester wraps up. However, I also think it’s important to be kind to ourselves during this time. There is a lot of uncertainty right now and many people are having to navigate situations that they never thought that they would be in.
4. Think of a time in college when you faced an obstacle. What did you do to overcome it? How can you use that past experience to help you get through what's going on in the world today?
As a first-generation student there have been plenty of times where I have faced obstacles throughout my collegiate journey. However, whenever I do face adversity, I try to make sure I am reaching out to those around me when I need help. This can range from family, friends, mentors, professors, advisors, and the like, but I always think it’s important to express your need for guidance or help. This advice relates a lot to what is going on today because it still holds –although it can be difficult at times to ask for help, it can really save you a lot of time and stress.
5. What are some healthy tips you can give to our community about adjusting to the new normal of practicing social distancing?
Some healthy tips that I can give to our community about adjusting to the new normal of practicing social distancing is to be kind to yourself. There is so much uncertainty going on, and I know this situation is not ideal for anyone, but if you are struggling with anything, be sure to reach out to the community and ask for help – that is what everyone is here for.
