We hope you and your families are safe and healthy during this unsettling time that brings many challenges. We understand that many of you may be experiencing issues related to your education, housing, mental health and meeting your basic needs. We have put together a list of resources that might provide some guidance and/or assistance. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to us for any support or if you just want to hear a friendly voice.
Student Support Resources
Free Internet For Students
Charter Communications is offering free Spectrum internet services to students amidst the current Coronavirus epidemic. Beginning March 16, Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access will be available to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription. This promotion is scheduled to last for 60 days after March 16. To enroll call 1.844.488.8395.
In response to the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on society, multiple Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have made updates to their low-cost internet service programs to ensure individuals and families stay connected to the internet during this challenging time. Everyone On updated its low-cost internet service options tool to reflect these changes.
U-Haul announced that it will extend 30 days of free, self-storage at U-Haul-owned and operated facilities to help college students impacted by unforeseen closures and schedule changes at their campuses.
Go Noodle provides free videos and games designed by child development experts to help kids engage their bodies and focus their minds. Learn more here.

They are immediately providing grocery and supply deliveries, and are preparing to expand this to other community support services like running errands, dog walking, childcare, caregiving, first-line medical training and response, and mental health support for those impacted by the pandemic. Work-Study:
Colleges can still pay students through the Federal Work-Study program as long as the college is paying other faculty and staff and continues to pay for its share of the program.
Adjusting Financial Aid:
Financial aid administrators on every campus have the power to adjust individual student’s financial aid. You may need to provide documentation, such as a paystub or letter of termination, to prove circumstances have changed.
Employment & Financial Support Resources
With proof that you have been earning a taxable income prior to the outbreak, you may qualify to receive unemployment benefits (work-study positions do not count). Each state's requirements are different.
California employees who lose work because of the coronavirus may be eligible for a range of benefits including paid sick leave, paid family leave, unemployment insurance and state disability insurance.

All funds raised will be distributed directly to LGBTQI+ individuals of color who have lost significant income this month due to cancellations related to COVID-19. If you are an LGBTQI+ person of color who is self-employed or in the service economy, and you have lost income due to COVID-19, take their survey and apply for relief.
